Our sustainability ambitions
Reduce climate and environmental impact
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the biggest topics of our time, and for us at Melbye it is about reducing the negative impact of our business on the environment and the surroundings around us.
Attractive, inclusive and safe workplace
At Melbye, we focus on equality, diversity and inclusion, working environment and HSE. In the long term, we have a goal of being a safe, attractive and modern workplace for everyone.
Open and transparent player in sustainability
Our work with sustainability is anchored in the organization through our sustainability strategy, which has been approved by the board of Melbye.
UN Sustainable Development Goals in Melbye
The UN Sustainable Development Goals are the world's common work plan to eradicate poverty, combat inequality and stop climate change by 2030. In order for our work on sustainability to be targeted and relevant to our business, we at Melbye have chosen to focus on the six sustainability goals where we have the greatest influence on sustainable development. By focusing on the selected goals, we can more closely control how we influence these, and we can find new opportunities.

The green shift
We are currently in the "green shift", which means that we must all adapt to a society where growth and development occur within nature's tolerance limits. We at Melbye will contribute to this transition by implementing concrete measures in line with our sustainability strategy. In this way, we can lead our company in a more sustainable direction, and we can contribute to the UN's sustainability goals.
As a trading company, and as part of a comprehensive value chain, we at Melbye have influence with regard to climate, environment and human rights. We will work with sustainability in a way that is targeted and relevant to our business. This means that we focus on the areas that matter most to our surroundings, where we have the greatest influence.
Melbye ReWear : new life for old garments
As part of our sustainability work, we have started Melbye ReWear - an initiative where we collect older Melbye clothing with the previous logo.
The garments are washed, sorted and given a new life, through internal reuse, donation to charity or creative reuse in projects.
The goal is to reduce textile waste, extend the lifespan of materials and ensure that our resources are used wisely.
A small step towards a more circular and thoughtful everyday life in true Melbye spirit.
Quality and environment in focus
We are proud to announce that Melbye is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. This confirms our strong focus on quality, environment and continuous improvement - in everything we do.
The certifications are not an end goal, but a confirmation that we are on the right path – and a motivation to continue developing our working methods to create value for our customers and contribute to a more sustainable industry.
