Melbye announces today that Hege Nordahl has been appointed as the new CEO. She takes over from Kristin Melsnes, and comes from the role of Executive Vice President with responsibility for Transmission & Regional Networks, Product, Strategy, Growth and Innovation.

– If Norway is to regain its position as a leader in power-intensive industry, we must think differently and draw inspiration from other countries and industries. We see that a holistic systems approach is crucial to achieving the goals from an industrial and safety perspective. Today, there is a great focus on energy production, but without power transmission we will not reach our goals. Going forward, we must think holistically, from A to Z, and as an actor in the middle, Melbye wants to contribute to a broader dialogue around improvements in the energy system, says Hege Nordahl.

Hege brings leadership experience from the energy and industrial sectors with a background from McKinsey & Company and Hydro . She has worked in Norway and internationally, and has a deep understanding and experience of the oil, gas and energy sectors. Earlier this year, she joined the corporate management team at Melbye, and on October 1, she took up the position of CEO.

- The core values ​​on which the family-owned company is built immediately struck me. The fact that golden eggs do not exist, but must be developed, that ownership is on loan and that change creates security, testify to the drive to challenge, think new things and create value. Kristin Melsnes returns to her role on the board 

Kristin has been acting CEO of Melbye since January. Her role has been an interim solution that has given the board the necessary peace of mind to carry out a thorough recruitment process. Now that the process has been completed, Kristin returns to her role as a board member of Melbye.
